This is the normally dry river bed below the N1. In places it reached the road.

The original signing of an agreement between the, then, three parties to first drop fences and create the Umhlametsi Conservancy. Participants in the first agreement to drop fences were the Steinmuller Organisation, the late Dr Alf Smith (Inkonkoni) and Vienna Game Farm. The participants in the signing ceremony were: Robin Duff (Left in the group; director on behalf of Steinmuller); seated; the late Dr Alf Smith (on behalf of Inkonkoni); Vincent Taylor (Right of picture) and Jim Thomson (centre) - (Directors of Vienna Game Farm). Following on from this agreement all the internal fences between the properties were dropped in 1991 to create the Umhlametsi Conservancy - the forerunner of the current Mohlabetsi Nature Reserve.

A lovely portrait of one of a pair of African civets frequently seen in the residential area. This photograph was taken on Kabundi Lodge (Site 17) by Brianna Hackler - a student from the USA visiting Jejane.

Regular night visitor to Kabundi Lodge (Site 17) - African civet (Civettcis civetta) - one of a pair observed around the house. Thought to be the female of the pair.
